Welcome
Rhythm & Muse is a dynamic poetry and music event held on the last Thursday of each month at The Lion, Teddington. With the occasional tour nights to local theatres – see below for news of the Festival event at the Rose Theatre in March.
Launched in July 2007 by local poet Alison Hill, Rhythm & Muse offers a platform for new, upcoming and established poets and musicians and a friendly, appreciative audience. (Warning: some audience members have been inspired to start writing poems and songs after just one visit!)
We feature two guest poets each month, and a guest musician or band, plus a few open mic slots (book in advance). Resident R&M host, the charismatic Nick Poole, has also been inspired to pen a lyric or two…
A truly great night – one to remember! I really enjoyed it all – music, atmosphere, ambiance, variety, readers, audience, hosting... Here's to another year, and many more, of Rhythm & Muse happenings!
